Slovakian sauerkraut soup
If you are looking for something to cook at Christmas Eve, we have a tip for you. Try something different this year, for example traditional Christmas Slovak sauerkraut soup.
Put sauerkraut (with juice) in the pot (add water) and cook. Then add chopped onions, bay leaves and washed, sliced meat and pre-soaked mushrooms.
When the meat and mushrooms soften, add tomato puree, washed sausage and a well-cooked roux made from bacon, flour and water. Cook, season with salt, pepper and chopped garlic.
