Shepherd’s pie

Meat and veg mix with mushrooms covered with layer of mashed potatoes and cheese. Yummy!

Steps

Clean and dice your onion, carrot and celery stalks

Take a deep pan, add sunflower oil and roast your vegetable for 3-5 minutes

Add ground beef and fry until brown

Add cleaned and cut mushrooms and roast shortly

Add flour and stir heavily

Add a spoon of tomato paste, two spoons of Worcester sauce, stir and add broth

Cover with a lid and let boil for about 40 minutes at low temperatures until the carrot is soft

Don’t forget to season with salt and pepper

In the meanwhile boil your potatoes

Remove your meat-veg mixture from your pan into a casserole and let it cool down

Mash your potatoes with butter and milk, add the cheese and mix well

Cover the whole casserole with mash potatoes and roast in an oven at 180°C for 35 minutes until the mash gets golden brown

Tip from Veronika: You can divide the batch into 6 smaller casseroles or make the whole thing in one huge casserole
