Herbal syrup

The production of home-made herbal syrup is traditional in early summer. It is great for preparing summer lemonade and for sweetening tea during rainy days.

First, we boil 2.5 liters of water and let it cool.


Do not wash elderberry flowers , just shake them carefully. Put them in a larger bowl or jug and add all others herbs and pour everything with boiled water.


Let it infuse for 12 to 24 hours and then pour over the linen.


We will prepare the bottles to be filled. First they should be disinfected by boiling in water.


Next add sugar, citric acid, lemon juice (watch out for seeds) and mix until the sugar is completely dissolved. You can taste the syrup with a pure spoon if it’s sour. If not, you can still add citric acid.


Then we can fill them into ready-made bottles.
